Kilauea, Hawaii
“The lava of Kilauea has a temperature of around 2,200 degrees F and is almost as thin as water. When it gets stopped on land, the lava solidifies in scallop-like shapes or twisted, rope-like strands. When this liquid hot magma flows in to the water at the Pacific Ocean, it makes for a pretty dramatic show, as well as slow growth in land area for the Big Island.”
